Every Saturday morning from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for the past 9 weeks ELPH was full of campers!

We started out our day with doing chores around the barn. The children helped muck stalls, add fresh bedding, clean water buckets and fill them up. We even went outside to pick rocks out of our huge outdoor arena. We swept, we mucked, we cleaned and we had fun doing it!

After chores children would go get their horses from the pastures and place them in the cross-ties. Children learned the proper grooming techniques, what each brush was called and how to use it.

Once the horses were cleaned-up, we went to the schooling-tack room and found our tack. They learned which each piece of tack was called and how to tack up their horses.

Riding time!

We headed down to the arena where the children learned how to mount, steer, walk and stop. Some even trotted along with huge smiles across their faces!

Once the horses were put back outside to graze. We started our craft!

Some of the favorite crafts we did this Fall include, painting wooden plates of the lesson horses, making horses out of construction paper using our feet, and the Halloween picture frames.
