Horse of the Day – Tin Can Tucker

Tucker started out his life on a ranch in South Dakota.  His dam an unregistered Quarter Horse (Too Much White) and his sire a paint bucking horse.  Tucker neither had the speed to run the barrels as he was bred for, the desire to chase cows (too fast for him) or the tough life of a ranch horse. Tucker made his way to Vermont and was purchased from Pond Hill over 12 years ago. Tucker is one of the favorite lesson horses in our program.  He loves children, adults and other horses….just not ponies! He takes excellent care of his riders and has won many State Championships and blue ribbons. Tucker’s favorite snacks: apples, carrots and peppermints.

Horse of the day Scotch Bars Star — Scotty

Scotty was born on March 31, 1986 in Iowa. To the parents of Scotch Bar Time and Star Fire Miss. Scotty was ELPH’s very first lesson horse and he has been a part of the Longworth family since he was 4 years old. Scotty has such a kind soul with a personality that loves attention. Excellent combination!

Scotty just adores children. He loves teaching children how to trot and post with his bouncy gait. Everyone learns how to post with correct diagonals pretty quickly.
He loves being groomed and especially loves having his neck scratched. Scotty will stand there for hours getting his neck scratched if you walk away he will beg for more! His favorite special snack would have to be an apple.
